Joining DARA

DARA membership is open to published and aspiring writers of both fiction and non-fiction works as well as individuals involved in the writing/publishing industry.

Meetings are held monthly with the primary purposes of providing support and learning experiences for the writer. Visitors are welcome (a $5 door fee is charged for non-members).

Membership dues are $45 per year. All members of DARA must be members in good standing of Romance Writers of America®.

• Monthly meetings offer information on all aspects of writing through workshops and programs by experts and published authors.
  
  
• Our monthly newsletter contains articles for writers of all levels, information on the publishing industry and regional contest information. It also keeps our members informed of other members' news, such as first time and subsequent sales or contest wins.
  
  
• A critiquing service offers support and help for aspiring writers.
  
  
• Published Authors Network addresses the needs and concerns of our published authors.
  
  
• Our website offers published authors a means of promoting their work by linking to personal web pages.
  
  
• A tape library provides seminars and instructional lectures about writing and publishing. Members can check out tapes at meetings.
  
  
• The chapter issues THE BOOKMARK, a monthly newsletter distributed to local booksellers, librarians, and readers for promotion of our authors' upcoming releases.

DARA members must be members of Romance Writers of America.

Submit the DARA Online Membership Application. A Dues Form will be generated that can be printed and mailed with your payment to:

Member benefits do not begin until dues are paid. Payments received:

• November 1 through April 30: $45.00
• May 1 through October 31: $22.50

Membership is renewed each November.
